Cloudflare introduces Observatory, a new website monitoring tool.

The American company introduces a new tool for monitoring website performance: Observatory.

Data is key

In order to know how well or poorly a website is performing, it is important to collect, analyze and interpret the right data. For example, pages that load too slowly are more likely to entice the average surfer to leave a website.

Observatory allows users through RUM data (Real-time user monitoring) experience the performance of a website the way visitors do. The Browser Insights feature collects the data from various sites, such as B. Loading and response times. This is done via integrated JavaScript beacons.

The dual purpose of Observatory is to let users know how fast their site is and how they can increase that speed. Additionally, Cloudflare claims that the system is easy to use even for users who are not experts in website data analysis.

Google is your friend

For these seamless analyses, Cloudflare has integrated the Google Lighthouse tool into Observatory. This allows you to rate and test websites regionally; Users can simulate how a website behaves in different parts of the world. The number of different tests you can run depends on your Cloudflare subscription (Free, Pro, Business, or Enterprise).

product placement

If Observatory identifies a potential issue based on the data it collects, the system will suggest another Cloudflare product to fix that issue. These suggestions are displayed directly in the Cloudflare dashboard.

This is the third update we’ve reported from Cloudflare in just a few months. Last month AI was added to some services, and in March free post-quantum security was offered.
