The AI ​​hype train arrives at a new station with GreenLake. HPE integrates LLMs into its cloud-like offering. These are pre-built, giving organizations immediate access to specific AI functionalities.

HPE gives its GreenLake offering an AI sauce. The sauce is spicy HPE GreenLake for large language models (LLM’s). GreenLake customers get access to such LLMs that HPE offers through the cloud. The solution was developed together with the German AI startup Aleph Alpha.

Ready to use but customizable

The models in question are ready-to-use and are used to process and analyze both images and texts. The first model is called Luminous. Users can further train it for their organization specific needs. The aim is to integrate the skills of the LLM into business processes. The Machine Learning Development Environment and the Machine Learning Data Management tools from HPE help with this.

HPE wants to use GreenLake to expand a wide range of AI offerings with industry-specific training in the long term. The program includes healthcare, climate research, the financial sector, as well as manufacturing and transport. HPE is also looking for additional partners to provide additional functionality to GreenLake for LLMs.

Cray supercomputer

The LLMs in question are only available via the cloud, where they run on HPE Cray XD supercomputers. They are powered by renewable energy and have an architecture that is ideal for AI workloads. GreenLake for LLMs is a service where you pay for the functionality, not the underlying hardware.

HPE GreenLake for LLMs will initially be available in the US upon request. In Europe, you can register for the AI ​​skills from early 2024.
