The DuckDuckGo web browser is already available for Windows in public beta and promises to be a development fast and easy with “best in class privacy protection”.
DuckDuckGo is known as an alternative to the search engines of industry giants such as Google Search, Microsoft Bing or Yahoo!. An open source development committed to privacy as its core function (and is actually the default engine in the TOR browser) that decided to launch its own browser some time ago.
Last year, it released mobile versions for iOS and Android, as well as for Mac. Now comes a Windows version with the same approach: Privacy. Since it’s based on Chromium (like many others) and uses the WebView2 rendering engine, it should load pages similarly to Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Once you install it, you’ll be able to import bookmarks from other installed browsers, manage its interface, and set it to work as your default if needed.
