The ASUS Prime N100I-D is a Mini-ITX motherboard, ideal for mounting a compact computer for basic work on a desktop computer, home theater, small dedicated server or in commercial and industrial sectors for points of sale and the like.
One of the outstanding features of this board is that including the processor. It is the Intel N100 (four cores and 6 watts TDP), the entry-level model of the Alder Lake-N series, which the chip giant launched this year for entry-level computers. As we said, they are ideal for building cheap, energy-efficient machines and, as in this case, without annoying fans because they use passive cooling.
ASUS Prime N100I-D measures 170 x 170 mm in the standard mini-ITX format. The manufacturer equipped the board with one SODIMM slot for installing up to 16 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM and has an M.2 2280 slot for installing a PCIe 3.0 SSD and covering the internal storage.

Its connectivity is pretty good for its size. It includes an additional M.2 connector for installing a wireless card for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a SATA 3 connector for increasing storage capacity with SSD and hard disk, and a PCIe 3.0 x1 connector. In terms of ports, it has:
- Gigabit Ethernet LAN
- HDMI
- VGA
- 1 x VGA
- COM
- PS/2
- 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
- 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
- 2x USB 2.0 type A
- audio connectors

The board is designed to work with a passive cooler, but also has headers in case the user wants to mount a fan, and additional headers that can be used for additional speakers, S/PDIF or USB connections.
We don’t have a starting price, but should be pretty cheap with processor integration. ASUS aims it for any use, commercial, industrial and for what concerns us at MC as a basic compact for desktop or living room for home cinema. You add a mono chassis and it can provide a lot of play.
