On Friday, the Falcon 9 launch vehicle was launched into orbit with another batch of 55 mini-satellites to renew the orbital group of the Starlink global internet coverage network.
As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by the TC Palm portal.
The rocket launched from Launch Complex 40 and flew along its southeast orbit before sending 55 Starlink Internet satellites into orbit. The first stage successfully landed on the Shortfall of Gravitas drone in the Atlantic, completing its eighth mission to date.
After Friday’s launch, SpaceX is fast approaching the 5,000 satellite limit for the Internet.
The company hopes to launch tens of thousands of spacecraft to ensure even coverage around the world, and to date it has more than 1.5 million customers, from government to business to residential.
Starlink’s launch today wraps up the month. The next mission, also with a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, is expected to be the high-profile launch of the European Space Agency’s Euclidean Space Telescope.
The mission is not scheduled to launch before Saturday, July 1, but the exact date has yet to be confirmed.
