Google has abandoned its cloud gaming service Stadia, but it looks like they’ve come up with something more original. The search giant is reportedly testing online games directly on YouTube.
The venture is called Playables. It will allow users to play games directly on the YouTube platform, both in the web version and in the mobile apps for Android and iOS.
The project is currently undergoing internal testing and Googlers are invited to participate. There is only one game available so far – Stack Bounce. This is an arcade from a very popular direction where you have to use a bouncing ball to break the horizontal blocks that are gradually moving down vertically.
The Playables project is reportedly part of YouTube CEO Neil Mohan’s effort to find new growth areas after cutting ad spend.
