Head of the Wagner group of Russian mercenaries, Evgeny Prigogine, having led an armed rebellion against the Russian military leadership, he agreed to stop his campaign against Moscow and begin negotiations to reduce tensions through the mediation of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
