The American company IBM, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of computers and software of all types, has decided to acquire cloud services developer Apptio for US$4.6 billion.

The acquisition of Apptio will accelerate IBM’s IT automation capabilities and enable the company to increase business value through technology investments.
Apptio has more than 1,500 customers serving more than half of the Fortune 100 companies (list of the largest US companies according to Fortune magazine).
In addition, Apptio integrates with leading companies such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Platform, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Oracle and SAP.
