Japan’s Minister of Digitization, Taro Kono, is ready to implement the use of artificial intelligence (AI) by civil servants to increase their productivity and improve working conditions.
As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by NHK.
It is stated that overtime has been known for a long time in Japan’s central government institutions and this situation has discredited the work of civil servants due to labor shortages.
During a meeting with a group of young officers, Kono was briefed on the use of productive artificial intelligence to compile meeting minutes and translate documents into Japanese and other languages.
The minister said he is ready to implement AI in central government institutions if the system can take over some of the tasks performed by civil servants and make their jobs more attractive.
According to him, it is important to reduce the tasks that reduce productivity in order to improve working conditions in government institutions.
As Ukrinform reports, researchers from Osaka University have developed a humanoid robot that resembles Japan’s current Minister of Digitization, Taro Kono.
