If more competent 2-in-1 devices like the iPad Pro, Microsoft’s Surface or Samsung’s top-of-the-range Galaxy Tab require digging in your pocket, it’s not hard to find a decent electronic tablet at a good price, and there are Amazon’s Fire models or a step above the SPC GRAVITY 4 Plus we reviewed last month and which offers great value under €200.
At this level is the TCL Tab 10 Gen 2, a model with a multi-touch IPS screen 10.36 inches, native resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels and support for active pens. Its chassis is made of aluminum, has a thickness of 7.35 mm and a weight of 425 grams.
Its engine is the chipset MediaTek MT8768 with four 2GHz ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores, four additional 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 cores and 650MHz integrated PowerVR GE8320 graphics.
Base configurations will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while the top model will have a capacity of 128GB. Both versions support microSD cards up to 1 Tbyte.
In terms of connectivity, the TCL Tab 10 Gen 2 has Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 compatibility, but the manufacturer will also offer a version with mobile broadband support upon request. 4G LTE. The tablet has an 8MP rear camera with autofocus support and a 5MP fixed focus front camera. Both can record 1080p video at up to 30 frames per second. It has stereo speakers and one microphone.
The battery has capacity 6000 mAh and charges via a USB Type-C port. The manufacturer supplies its own charger. In terms of accessories, TCL will offer an active stylus called the T-Pen that supports 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, a Bluetooth keyboard, a cover that doubles as a stand, and a screen protector.
The TCL Tab 10 Gen 2 will soon be available in the international market in a variety of colors, pre-installed with Android 13 and upgrades to higher versions. No price was given, but considering the competition, it should be pretty cheap.
