Four years later Google is about to update the visual identity of the Android brand. The new Android logo will feature a new logo and a 3D version of the iconic robot head, replacing the flat head introduced in 2019.
The new logo begins with a capital “A”. after years android chose something completely lowercase. This new font makes the ‘n’ and ‘r’ letters perfectly rounded, the new logo can be seen as a combination of the 2008 and 2014 logos, according to expert analysis.
Google has been quietly using the new logo and branding since the beginning of the year, but has yet to make an official announcement. This is not the first time Google has made changes to the Android logo, it has already been changed twice.
9to5Google was the first to spot the 3D heads at CES 2023, where they were still on display alongside the tiny android, while Google created some expressive versions using different materials. The new logo was seen again at Google I/O 2023.
In a statement to 9to5Google, Google confirmed the “new branding” and said it would reveal more about it in the future. However, he did not give a date for the presentation of the new logo, which will be presented to the public.
“We are showcasing some elements of our new corporate identity across multiple venues, including our booth at CES earlier this year and other campaign materials such as digital ads and banners. We’ll have more to share in the coming months,” Google said in a statement to 9to5Google.
The portal also stressed that it believes the new logo used by Google will be coming to all Android devices soon. The brand is currently displayed as “Powered by Android”. However, it remains to be seen when the company decides to make the change official and finally announce it to users.
