A apple wants to be less dependent on chip production in China, and for this reason, the company is very worried about the factory TSMS Get ready in Arizona. The Cupertino giant intends to shift some of its legacy device chip production to this new facility from 2024, but some information indicates that this may be delayed. According to a new report Nikkei Asiaby using 9to5Google, construction of a new plant is delayed due to communication problems with American workers.
The Health app will get a State of Mind tool so users can keep track of their mental state throughout their lives.
According to the website, currently The Arizona facility employs 12,000 workers. and they are more expensive than the company had anticipated when construction began. In addition, communication with them is also described as “difficult”. Due to these failures, the budget the work is more expensive than the chipmaker expectedbut this is still not considered a big problem because currently this cost is “manageable”.
The site highlights that this connectivity issue is one of several factors that are delaying completion. TSMS initially hoped to start chip production in September 2023, but now that may only happen in March 2024. apple optimistic to start manufacturing chips for older devices at this plant next year, it remains to be seen if this delay in completion will be a problem for Apple’s plans.

ABOUT Nikkei Asia indicates that the semiconductor manufacturer is studying in July, to send about 500 workers with experience in building their facilities from Taiwan to the United States. It is worth noting that for the production of chips, the installation must have very complex sections that must be built following several recommendations.
But sending these workers is unlikely to be easy, and the company is currently negotiating with the US government to get help applying for nonimmigrant visas for these people.
Executive Director from TSMS declared Nikkei that “there is a shortage of American workers with good first-hand experience, especially in the construction of semiconductor factories.” It is likely that if the company does not receive visas, the construction of a new installation in Arizona can be delayed and even more expensive.
