Xiaomi’s MIUI 14 rollout is not yet complete and many users are eagerly waiting for the Android 13 update. This is definitely disappointing as we are almost close to the release of Android 14. But on the plus side, the alpha versions of the software have already been flagged on the company’s servers, 15 months prior to Xiaomi’s MIUI development. The latest version of MIUI should improve animations along with a few other updates.

MIUI 15 may be based on Android 13 and 14

Employees xiaomiui Discovered the alpha version of MIUI 15 on the Xiaomi server. The test server is showing versions 23.5.22 and 23.7.2, indicating that development probably started in May, with the first one ready for testing on the 22nd of that month. This also suggests that MIUI 15 will be based on both Android 13 and Android 14, similar to MIUI 14 which has versions for both Android 12 and Android 13.

At the moment, we do not have any information about the new improvements and features that MIUI 15 will introduce. Along with all this, the trade network highlights improved animations and other innovations, although no details are mentioned. MIUI 14 was released last December, so we should expect a similar schedule for the new version. The software is likely to begin rolling out to eligible Xiaomi phones in the first quarter of 2024.

Xiaomi was spotted testing MIUI 15 alpha builds on a device codenamed “garnet”, which is said to be part of the upcoming Redmi Note 13 series. As Xiaomi usually launches the Redmi Note series in China at the end of the year, it has been announced that the Redmi Note 13 will likely be the first device to receive the MIUI 15 update. xiaomiui announced that the upcoming series will be available in China, India and other global markets.
