The hacking group Anonymous Sudan claims to have successfully hacked into Microsoft’s systems and allegedly stolen the data of thirty million users. However, the company denies that the group succeeded in doing this.

The Telegram channel of the hacker collective Anonymous Sudan is said to be offering the data of thirty million Microsoft customers for sale. The group claims they stole this data after a successful hack by the American tech giant. However, Microsoft denies these claims.

details

Anonymous Sudan is asking $50,000 for the data and is also posting some examples on Telegram to show the theft was successful. However, the origin cannot be verified.

The offender

The group is known at Microsoft as Storm-1359. Last month, the American company had to admit that Anonymous Sudan’s hackers carried out a successful Layer 7 DDoS attack on several of its systems. The result was that Azure, Outlook and OneDrive went down for a while.

The hacking collective emerged earlier this year and says it targets anyone who poses a threat to Sudan. However, Anonymous Sudan has often been linked to the Russian KillNet. This group attacked the European Parliament website last year. Anonymous Sudan does not hide this affiliation on its Telegram channel either.
