Fans of folding smartphones can circle July 26 in red on their calendars. Then Samsung presents the Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5.

Samsung this morning sent out the invitation to a Galaxy Unpacked event on July 26th. This will be transmitted directly from Seoul and will be broadcast in Belgium from 1 p.m. The name of the event Join the flip side and the poster with a Z-Flip smartphone leave little room for imagination, although in addition to foldable smartphones, smartwatches and tablets could also pass the test.

The Z Fold and Z Flip smartphones are now in their fifth generation. The concept of a foldable smartphone has matured a lot since the launch of the first Galaxy Fold in 2019 and today they are popping up more often. We particularly liked the Galaxy Z Fold 4 last year, but we weren’t particularly enthusiastic about the Z Flip 4.

Stop criticism

The rumor mill about all the specifications of the latest generation of Samsung foldables is already in full swing. Apparently, Samsung wants to address the main criticisms of the latest devices. For example, the Z Fold 4 would have a different folding mechanism to close the phone flat, for which Samsung gets the mustard from Oppo.

For the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Samsung is once again responsible for the cover display. When the smartphone is closed, the device has a smaller screen, but you cannot read more than the time on it. The cover display would be a bit larger to offer more possible uses.
