Ever since TikTok became one of the major players in the world of social networks and gained the attention of users, Meta has not slept day and night to bite off at least some of its popularity. One of the first steps was to launch a similar fullscreen video Reel format. They were later published in a separate section. And now we’ve started reworking the main tape. All to be like TikTok.

Detail

Previously, Instagram had reported that the main content type in the app would be vertical videos. The company is gradually enabling a dedicated Reels tab, which appears where a new post creation button used to be, and then “moves” to the top-right corner of the screen. Also, Reels videos now appear on tape and in recommendations.

Probably, in order to bring everything into one view, the developers decided to change the design. Tests have already started among a limited number of users. It is currently unknown what he will do after leaving office.

  • So posts with regular photos now look like Reels.
  • The posts take up the whole screen and the description is added above the image, not below it as it is now.
  • Comments can be viewed by clicking the lower right corner.
  • Stories will still be displayed at the top of the screen before scrolling.

Yes, a new Instagram / Instagram photo will likely look like this

  • It is unclear how the tape will now scroll: one post at a time, as in TikTok, or a full “canvas”, as it is now, or even far.
  • Some users are reportedly able to see full-screen photos already in their feed.
