One way to protect yourself is to use a VPN. This is a private virtual network for accessing the Internet. According to Cyberpolice, the real IP address of a person using a VPN will not be visible to other services they interact with, UNIAN reports.

What makes a VPN

• Hides your IP address by replacing it with the public IP address of your VPN service;
• bypasses the blocking, which does not allow you to connect to the desired service;
• Removes rate limits, if any, on the edge service for a given user area.

However, like any service, VPN has disadvantagesespecially:

• it is not always as secure as it seems (technical data may be stored somewhere and accessible to third parties);
• It can significantly affect the speed of the Internet connection;
• free VPNs have their downsides: annoying ads, limited data, slow connection, instability, etc.;
• some VPN clients (apps) can also be used as malware.

So use a VPN, but don’t forget any downsides that may happen to you.
