Microsoft tells you what conditions are attached to the Microsoft 365 Copilot and what companies need to do to be able to use it soon.

Microsoft announced Microsoft 365 Copilot with a lot of fanfare, but after that the AI ​​went quiet. Microsoft 365 Copilot is intended to support employees within organizations, as a chatbot it advances knowledge within a company and can work with Microsoft 365 apps, for example to create a PowerPoint presentation from a few emails.

That all sounds good, but as with all other AI-themed announcements earlier this year, it shows that there is still a long way to go between vision and practical availability. We don’t have any further information about a launch yet, but to break the silence, Microsoft has already revealed details about the conditions that companies will soon have to meet in order to take off with Copilot.

Conditions

Before you can even think about the Microsoft 365 Copilot, you must meet the following conditions:

• A Microsoft 365 E3 or E5 license is required;

The data stays safe

While the technology is based on OpenAI, Copilot does not use the public ChatGPT bot. All AI functionality comes from Azure OpenAI Services. Copilot AI calls land in the nearest data center. In no case will data be extracted from the customer’s region.

Microsoft also wants to captivate European customers immediately. The Microsoft 365 Copilot will therefore take the EU data limit into account with immediate effect.
