More than 200 resources hacked: the success of the Ukrainian IT Army last week

It will be reminded that one of the main tasks of the Ukrainian Informatics Army on the cyber front is to confront the enemy in cyberspace and to disseminate accurate information about the war launched by Russia in Ukraine.

IT Army’s achievements in a week

Between 2 and 8 May, more than 200 Russian online resources were hacked:

  • Stopping the breweries. Due to the massive attack, the work of the only state automated information system that monitors the turnover of alcohol and alcohol-containing products was paralyzed. As a result, production stopped at several large breweries.
  • Online shopping. Online stores suspended due to cyber attack. As a result of the attack, Russians could not shop online on many platforms.
  • Tender sites. For the second week in a row, the work of dozens of Russian electronic systems for public procurement was paralyzed, as a result of which the Russians continued to disrupt the tender.
  • Electronic reporting systems. Residents of Russia have been unable to receive timely reports for several weeks, and the relevant systems continue to be blocked.
  • Russian propaganda services. Thanks to the constant attacks of the Ukrainian Informatics Army, the Russians remain without propaganda.

Ukraine’s war on the cyber front

Since the founding of the IT Army, Ukraine has had and continues to achieve impressive victories on the cyber front.

  • To date, more than 80 databases critical to Russia containing information about citizens and businesses have been hacked. This list continues to be updated almost daily.
  • The digital blockade has affected many Russian IT companies. For example, VKontakte recently reported that it could not buy servers on its own to meet its own needs.

At the same time, Russia’s cybersecurity sector has suffered greatly from the sanctions, but the real victory, according to Foreign Minister Mikhail Fedorov, will be with the departure of offensive troops from Ukraine.

What does the IT Army do?

BT Army attacks all areas of Russia every day:

  • resources of government agencies;
  • big companies;
  • communication operators;
  • banks;
  • credit Unions;
  • electronic digital signature services;
  • A set of household services used by the population.

Almost anyone can participate. Almost every day, information about new missions and successful attacks appears on the telegram channel of the Ukrainian IT Army.
