Apple is applying an innovative marketing strategy to promote the second season of the critically acclaimed sci-fi series Foundation. The tech giant has decided to make the first episode of the series available on YouTube for free, allowing a wider audience to access the content without having to download the Apple TV+ app.

The initiative follows a similar strategy recently adopted by Apple, which posted a full episode of the Silo series on Twitter. Foundation is an adaptation of the classic series of novels by Isaac Asimov. The first season premiered in 2021 after a production delay due to the pandemic.

Now Apple is offering the opportunity to watch the first episode for free on YouTube to lure viewers to the premiere of the second season, set for July 14th. The idea is to be able to reach an audience not involved in the Cupertino company’s ecosystem.

According to the North American company, they chose the live broadcast format to release the first episode on YouTube. The premiere is scheduled for this Monday (10) at 15:00 (Brazilia time). Unfortunately for those who don’t speak English, there will be no Portuguese subtitles or dubbing, as is the case when viewed on Apple TV+.

For fans of the series and fans of sci-fi, the great news is that immediately after the episode airs, there will be a Q&A session on YouTube with showrunner David Goyer. This interaction will give viewers the opportunity to learn more about the production behind the scenes and satisfy their curiosity.
