Twitter’s direct competitor, the social network Threads, has already gained 100 million users, doing so faster than the popular chatbot based on artificial intelligence ChatGPT.
As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by Reuters.
According to UBS analysis, Threads’ speed to reach 100 million users was much faster than OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which became the fastest growing consumer app in history in January, nearly two months after its launch.
As of July last year, it was stated that Twitter had approximately 240 million daily active users.
Also, Twitter’s new CEO, Linda Jaccarino, wrote on the social network on Monday that the platform had its “biggest day of use” since February last week, giving no further details.
While Threads isn’t the first social network to challenge Twitter, other promising competitors like Mastodon, Bluesky, Truth Social and T2 remain relatively small for now.
Mastodon has about 7.7 million users.
As Ukrinform reported, on July 6, the company Meta launched the Threads text service, created for text exchange and expected to rival Twitter.
