CEO Bill Thomas confirms that KPMG LLP is consistently expanding its partnership with Microsoft. In addition, the company is investing $2 billion in AI and cloud services.
The American KPMG is investing two billion dollars in the operation of artificial intelligence and various cloud services. The company also announced an expansion of its partnership with tech giant Microsoft.
KPMG is an American company that operates worldwide, including in Belgium. The law firm specializes in auditing, financial advice and accounting. It is one of the Big Four consulting firms. KPMG employs around 265,000 people worldwide.
KPMG’s plans were announced in an interview CEO Bill Thomas gave to the Wall Street Journal. The expanded partnership with Microsoft is expected to generate $12 billion in revenue over the next five years.
The partnership with Microsoft also includes the implementation of AI and cloud in the various services offered by KPMG. For example, the company is considering further automation of its tax, accounting and consulting services.
The goal is for KPMG staff to be able to perform faster analytics to spend more time on strategy and, in turn, helping clients integrate AI. So the company would not replace anyone with artificial intelligence, but train people and install them in new positions.
An important part of working with Microsoft is KPMG’s access to 365 Copilot. This AI assistant isn’t widely available yet, so that’s a nice plus. We assume that KPMG meets the conditions set by Microsoft. In addition, the company now also has the cloud services of Microsoft Azure.
A significant portion of KPMG’s investment goes specifically into generative AI. According to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, the company can bring together massive amounts of data to file tax returns, expedite corporate audits, or conduct transactions related to environmental, social, or government issues.
