Electronic Arts has been producing FIFA football simulators for 29 years. But we won’t be seeing FIFA from Electronic Arts next year. The last chapter of the legendary franchise that the legendary company is working on will be FIFA 23, which will be released this year.

The reason is unimportant – Electronic Arts disagrees with FIFA leadership. The stumbling block is money. The International Football Federation offered a license of $250 million a year. Electronic Arts has paid $150 million so far.

Electronic Arts will of course continue to produce football simulators. But they will be named differently – EA Sports FC. Will they change in terms of gameplay? Tough. However, we will not see world championships and other FIFA tournaments in the games. Instead, players, teams, names and titles will be preserved. EA has a license for this.

What about FIFA? Representatives of the International Football Federation have already announced that they will find developers who will release the FIFA series games starting with FIFA 24.
