American restaurant chain Chipotle Mexican Grill, together with California startup Vebu Labs, has developed a robot that helps peel and cut avocados to prepare guacamole.
As reported by Ukrinform, reported CNBC.
Today, it takes about 50 minutes to make a batch of Chipotle guacamole. But the Autocado robot can cut setup time in half.
Chipotle employees load a crate of ripe fruit into the robot to prepare avocados with Autocado. Autocado can support a weight of up to 11 kg at the same time.
The device then positions the avocado vertically, cuts it in half and removes the core and skin. The bottom bowl collects the already peeled fruit and workers can then crush it by hand and mix it with the rest of the guacamole ingredients.
Chipotle wants employees to be personally involved in making the guacamole.
He says restaurant staff don’t need to watch Autocado while preparing the avocados. The robot can even use the top of the appliance as extra space to cook other ingredients.
Eventually, Vebu plans to add machine learning capabilities and sensors to Autocado to help assess the quality of avocados.
As reported by Ukrinform, a South Korean company ROBOTIS was presented by the third generation GAEMI’s robot, Who helps in hotels?
