Doroni air taxi prototype makes its first flight

American company Doroni’s H1 vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) air taxi prototype made its first manned flight.

“I am extremely pleased with our team’s outstanding success in the first manned two-seat personal eVTOL test flight in US history,” said Doron Merdinger, CEO of the company.

Doroni promises that the device can fly about 100 kilometers on a single charge. The cruising speed will be 160 km per hour and its maximum speed will not exceed 225 km per hour.

The cost of a two-seater aircraft is 195 thousand dollars.

The company hopes to obtain certification from the American aviation regulator FAA in 2024, and deliveries to customers will occur in 2025.

It was stated that future H1 pilots will need at least 20 hours of training to operate such a vehicle.
