The Google I/O event introduced the innovation of the Google Maps service (Google Maps), which will receive a feature called immersive view (immersive view). Initially, the regime will work for Los Angeles, London, New York, San Francisco and Tokyo. Other cities will be added gradually.

The immersive view takes street imaging and aerial photography to a whole new level, combining to immerse you in the atmosphere of a particular place wherever you are. With the time slider, you can check how the area looks at different times of the day and in different weather conditions, and find out, for example, where the busiest places are. When you go down the street, you can see information such as working hours, traffic jams, and even look at restaurants and other businesses on the street.

Made possible by Google’s ability to combine billions of streetscapes and aerial photos to create a “rich digital model of the world,” the immersive view needs to work on “almost any phone.”

It was also announced that Live View is now available to third-party app developers. Live View is a feature that helps you navigate on the go by using augmented reality to display direction arrows. Source
