Prime Day, which is gaining importance in the retail sector, took place on July 11 and 12, demonstrating the strong interest of Brazilian consumers in technology products. Buscapé data shows that cell phones, home appliances and televisions led the way in research and purchases, proving that the population has a preference for these high value-added items.
Catharina Breda, commercial coordinator for Mosaico, the company responsible for Buscapé, notes that searches for electronic devices are constant throughout the year, and consumers see promotional dates as an opportunity to purchase desired products at lower prices. “Society is extremely interconnected and people often update their electronic devices to take advantage of the best features. Events such as Prime Day are seen as an opportunity to save money on the purchase of a desired product.” explains Breda.
Buscapé data also shows that in the first half of this year, 19 of the top 20 most popular products were smartphones of various brands and models, confirming that these devices have become indispensable and objects of constant desire among Brazilians.

During “Prime Day Warm-upwhich ran from July 1 to July 10, Amazon partner sites adopted a strategy to boost cashback on items sold by the retailer instead of offering direct discounts.
