American start-up Telly has begun distributing its free TVs, the main feature of which is a second screen for endless advertising. This was reported by The Verge.
The main screen of Telly TVs has a diagonal of 55 inches and a resolution of 4K. Below is a powerful soundbar to which an additional screen has been added to display advertisements. Users can view a TV program or sporting events on the secondary screen above the ad. Also, the TV has a built-in camera, which according to the manufacturer is essential for users to do remote fitness with trainers.
By the end of 2023, Telly plans to ship at least 500,000 TVs in the United States. In 2024, circulation will reach “millions” of devices.
Telly TVs are offered to users for free, as the company aims to monetize their devices through advertisers who place their offers on additional screens. Telly’s partners already include large companies such as Microsoft, Magnite and MNTN.
