The website of the Bulgarian Parliament was the target of an attack by the Russian hacker group NoName057(16).
As reported by Ukrinform, the Balkan columnist reported this on Facebook.
The hackers blocked the portal and posted a photo of a winking bear on the page.
Deputy of the party “Democratic Bulgaria” Ivaylo Mirchev described the attack of Russian hackers on his parliamentary page.
On his page on social networks, he wrote that “the parliament’s website is currently under a Russian DDoS attack.”
The reason for the attack is Bulgaria’s intention to transfer armored vehicles of the 1980s from the reserves of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to Ukraine.
A proposal to provide Bulgaria with 100 armored vehicles from the reserve of the Ministry of Internal Affairs must be submitted to parliament for approval.
Russian hacker group NoName057(16) wrote directly on its Telegram channel that it hacked the website of the Bulgarian parliament due to Sofia’s intention to provide military aid to Kiev.
Bulgaria has prepared a package of 100 armored vehicles for Ukraine. Therefore, the site of the Bulgarian People’s Assembly received several hundred thousand DDoS missiles from us.”
As reported by Ukrinform, Bulgarian authorities announced on Thursday that 100 armored vehicles were transferred to Ukraine as part of the largest military aid package.
