It seems that the initial enthusiasm for the new social network has passed, and everyone who does not see the meaning in it and does not understand why it is needed is gradually leaving. Probably the last role in this was not played by the censors, as in other projects of Mark Zuckerberg.
Meta tries to present Threads as an apolitical “friendly place”. The head of the company, Adam Mosseri, emphasized that the social network will not promote politics, news and similar content in its feeds. Also, some users have already managed to get banned for their posts. This makes the service somewhat fresh and, as some media outlets predict, “vanilla”. In the early days, the new space was occupied by numerous brands that would use it for advertising. The lack of an available news feed also frightened users away.
A Meta representative told Gizmodo in an email: “Although it’s early days, we’re excited by Threads’ initial success that exceeded our expectations. We launched the app more than a week ago, and we’re currently focused on providing stable performance, introducing new features, and further improving the user experience in the coming months.”.
