Israeli website builder Wix wants to move away from templates. Soon you will be able to create a whole new website through various AI features on the platform.

AI has been part of Wix for seven years, and the platform already includes some features that will allow you to create a website where artificial intelligence plays a big role. For the near future, however, the company wants to fully focus on AI and completely move away from templates.

The future is AI

Wix’s goal is to build websites solely using AI prompts. The platform has four new features in the pipeline to make this plan a reality in the near future:

• AI page and section designer
• Object Eraser
• AI assistant to take care of your business side

AI website generator

Soon all you have to do is type in what you want in a prompt and then Wix takes care of the design and images, ChatGPT takes care of the text. So no more templates, but a website built entirely by AI and algorithms.

If you change your mind afterwards, you can also prompt the system to make adjustments. It also integrates with Wix business apps such as stores, bookings, restaurants or events.

AI page and section designer

This feature allows sections or pages to be added to existing websites. You describe your wishes and the AI ​​takes care of the design, layout and text.

Object Eraser

With this tool you can extract objects from images to customize them to your liking. The name says it all.

AI assistant to take care of your business side

This is another feature that Wix is ​​still working on. This new AI assistant makes suggestions to improve your website based on personalized analysis and the data trends on the website.

Wix has not yet announced exactly when these new features will be available. In any case, they would be introduced soon. The company is the next big name to push even further into artificial intelligence, though many have concerns about the fast-growing technology.
