Soon, when you log into your app, you will see a new “Podcasts” section in the top menu. It will join five mood filters. You can also find “Podcasts” in the “Library” tab in the same place.

• Judging by the screenshots posted by testers of the new feature, the service offers a separate playlist that will collect new episodes for easy access.
• Additionally, another separate list will let you add your own selected episodes to listen to later.
• By visiting the author’s channel, you will be able to see all the episodes of the podcast and a text with a brief description of its topic.
• The user can download a podcast to listen without internet, share a channel or a separate episode, adjust the playback speed, fast forward 30 seconds and rewind 10 seconds, set sleep mode.

Also, one of the screenshots shows that the user can quickly switch from audio format to video. This will happen in such a way that you can now switch from a song to a clip – for this there are separate buttons on the cover.

The source states that playback in offline mode (without Internet) and in the background (with the screen off and switching to other applications) is available without a subscription to YouTube Premium.

An unpleasant point, in the new chapter only podcasts/channels that upload video versions of episodes will be available. It’s unclear whether this restriction will continue in the future, but it imposes severe restrictions because not all podcasters create two versions of their posts at the same time.

There is still no definitive worldwide launch date. The company has now expanded its availability from the US to Canada and Brazil with local language support.
