Plexamp is a Winamp-inspired music player created by the Plex think tank. If it was only available to subscribers until now, the multimedia center announced that it would be free for every user who wants to use it.

Plexamp was created a few years ago as part of the Plex services. The ultimate PC media center wanted its own music player, and it was one of the first developments to come out of its think tank. If in its beginnings it was aimed at a small player for use in Plex, today it is an application multi-platform and independent.

Now comes a new version (4.7.4) that can be downloaded and used for free by any user, not just Flex Pass subscribers like before. Since its development was inspired by the legendary Winamp (a player for Windows that became essential on any PC at the end of the last century), you can expect all its features and much more.

The application allows you to play all kinds of songs of any quality, including lossless sound (lossless), both your own content that you’ve downloaded to your device (individual tracks, albums, stations or playlists) and streaming services where it excels TIDAL. It also has advanced features such as Sweet fadesgapless playback, buffering, smooth transitions between tracks or volume equalization.

Users can create playlists according to your current mood (“melancholic, cathartic, confident, intense, playful, soulful, arrogant and melancholy”); use Library Radio to discover new content; Radio Decade which allows you to play songs from a certain decade or Radio Time Travel to recall the oldest songs in the music library.

interface From Plexamp, you can use a large number of different backgrounds and themes to enhance the display, and the home page can be customized to suit the user. It features a ten-band EQ with headphone presets, and you can create a different EQ curve for each output device.
