Intel may work directly with a few technologies, but that doesn’t mean the company isn’t keeping an eye on others. It’s worth noting that Figure isn’t the only company investing in this scenario, despite having received a large sum from Intel to continue its research and development. Boston Dynamics started selling four-legged robots a few years ago for $75,000 and is promising Atlas, a humanoid that can reach speeds of up to 2.5 meters per second and still perform somersaults. No word yet on whether it will be released to the market.

It is not known what deal Intel made with Figure for investment, however, if they are right about the labor market and the machine fills the menial work en masse – it is possible that they will delve into this idea and be able to use their chips and processors to expand their presence on our planet.
