The first project implemented in this direction will be the Moonlock Engine, a new malware detection technology integrated into the company’s most popular product, CleanMyMac X. The vulnerability detection module Threat Destroyer is now powered by Moonlock Engine.
How does it work
According to the Mac Security Survey 2023, about 57% of Mac users are unsure whether there is any threat to the macOS operating system, or completely believe there is absolutely no threat. Also, one in three Mac users believes their data is not of interest to cybercriminals. However, more than 50% of Mac users have experienced malware, account breaches, and scams personally or among friends or colleagues.
So the company combined its own antivirus software with CleanMyMac X, designed to monitor your Mac’s resources, and now:
- Malware scan runs twice as fast.
- Scanning covers attachment locations such as external drives, email attachments, archives, and browser extensions.
- Users can customize the vulnerability scan according to their needs, preferring the speed or completeness of the scan.

Moonlock Engine removes malware, finds and removes any threat threatening your Mac. The company promises to scan twice as fast on Mac computers with the M1 chip and 1.5 times faster on Intel-based computers.
CleanMyMac X with Moonlock Motor has already been independently tested by AV-TEST and claims an efficiency of 93.3 percent. The updated program is already available for download.
