He Ministry of Justice The US has notified the state of Texas that it intends to sue the placement floating “wall” in the Rio Grande as part of the state’s operation on the Texas-Mexico border.
The Justice Department sent a letter to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott this Thursday, though there is time for the response of the stateaccording to CNN.
“Texas actions violate federal lawcause humanitarian problems, pose a serious threat to public safety and the environment, and may prevent the federal government from fulfilling its official duties,” the letter explains.
The letter also cites an article of the law stating that “prohibits any obstruction to navigation in United States watersand also prohibits the construction of any structures in the specified waters without permission from the United States Army Corps of Engineers.”

This is unrelated to the current assessment of mistreatment of migrants, which the Justice Department has described as “alarming reports”.
“Texas has sovereign powers protect our borderin accordance with the US Constitution and the Texas Constitution,” Abbott wrote on his Twitter account.
The Governor added, “We have sent numerous letters to the Biden administration detailing our powers, including that personally delivered to President Biden earlier this year.” (Europe Press)
