A month ago, the last ROCCAT mouse, the Burst ProAira mouse that allows you to play without cables, but that won’t forget to pack it in case you need to play with complete fluency.
ROCCAT Burst Pro Air includes connection technology StellarWireless, which optimizes wireless signal strength and battery life. It has a sensor 19,000 DPI Owl-Eye along with some of the Titan optical switches we’ve already seen on the Vulcan PRO keyboard, smooth operation and fast detection, which will offer us a super fast and accurate response. It weighs about 81 grams and contains low-resistance heat-treated pads made of pure PTFE.
Its appearance attracts attention to the bold design of the hive, which can cause some rejection of people with tryphobia. His body is transparent thanks to Bionic Shell ROCCAT technology. Of course, it has LED lighting, fully customizable using SWARM ROCCAT software and also includes a smart mode. AIMO. If we have a keyboard and a mouse of the same brand and we choose AIMO lighting in both, both will glow in the same colors.
ROCCAT Burst Pro Air contains two additional buttons on the left side of the mouse, with which we can program special functions if necessary. Very comfortable to use and in a position that does not cause them to click by mistake. In the middle, just below the scroll is DPI button which adjusts the cursor movement by accelerating it.
It’s astonishing how quiet it is unlike the noise that gaming keyboards usually generate. In ROCCAT Burst Pro, noise when scrolling, buttons or scrolling is minimal.
Although the main feature of ROCCAT Burst Pro Air is its wireless technology, we want to mention it separately Phantom Flex braided cable which we have already seen in ROCCAT Horse XP. With the cable connected, we can enjoy the mouse with amazing accuracy.
When we first tested this mouse, we did it wirelessly, testing ROCCAT Stellar Wireless technology. Perhaps due to unloading, the mouse did not work as expected, it jerked at times and it was not a very pleasant experience, although it was manageable. We left it plugged in and later, and when it was fully charged, we used it without a cable, and even though it worked a little better, the difference is noticeable, which made us throw away the idea of using it to play without a cable. They assure ROCCAT 100 hours battery but we’ve seen that when the battery is low, accuracy isn’t that good anymore.
It has two connection modes, one with the stellar technology we mentioned earlier, Stellar Wireless, but we also have the option to use it with a 2.4 GHz Bluetooth connector. It is also striking that if we remove the cable, the AIMO lighting technology will keep in sync with the keyboard. To change the connection mode, from Wiriless to Bluethoot, we can do so using the button located at the bottom of the mouse.
Get the most out of SWARM
SWARM is customization software for ROCCAT devices, from this program we can customize any detail of ROCCAT Burst Pro Air. From the advanced configuration, we can know the battery charge status and signal level of the mouse to see if it is enough to keep the mouse as accurate as possible.
We can also customize vertical scrolling speed, double-click speed, Windows speed indicator and DPI switches.
Conclusions
We liked ROCCAT Burst Pro Air, although we were disappointed that it was not fully capable in wireless mode and was not completely reliable. When we disconnect the cable, sometimes the cursor disappears, other times it collapses, they are small bugs that annoy even during the working day, so they would be unthinkable during the game. With the cable connected, the mouse is of course a real joy, it is light and 100% accurate. It can be a good choice as a gaming laptop mouse, where the cable bothers us more, but yes, we have to make sure that the connection is very good and that it is 100% charged.
