There is no better way to end a week than giving bad news. And as you know, Xiaomi a few months ago announced that the weekly betas of MIUI in China have been definitively closed, so users could only install it. Public betas prior to the release of the stable update.

Apparently, that didn’t stop there as the brand just announced it. Up to 16 phones from the Asian firm will no longer be able to access MIUI public betas very sooni.e. they will all get only the latest versions of any update, without the possibility to test how it works before they are released.

Goodbye MIUI public betas for these 16 devices

Considering that, this news is not particularly alarming. It will only affect the China region, but it is very likely to lead to the same decision for all Global teams or European ROMs. As such, none of them will be able to test an update before it’s stablely deployed, which is bad news for potential bug fixes.
