Sergey Tokarev: Replacing human intelligence with AI is a myth or a reality

The impact of artificial intelligence on the modern world: What does IT businessman Sergey Tokarev think about it?

Artificial intelligence has entered various fields of activity incredibly quickly and has been widely used, especially in the IT industry. However, with the spread of this technology, the anxiety of people who begin to perceive it as a threat to their future is also increasing.

Sergey Tokarev, the founder of the Roosh company and the IT university SET University, has been studying the development of AI and ML (machine learning) phenomena both in Ukraine and around the world for many years. In an interview with the online publication “RBK-Ukraine”, he shared his thoughts on how promising these technologies are and what risks their application poses.

Can AI take jobs from humans?

In 2023, there was a breakthrough in the development of artificial intelligence in Ukraine: access to ChatGPT was opened (the service does not work only in areas temporarily occupied by Russia). With the advent of such a powerful tool, many questions and concerns arose, and Sergey Tokarev commented on some of them:

  1. According to the investor, who did not expect technologies to develop so quickly, humanity witnessed the beginning of the age of artificial intelligence. Great changes await us in all areas of business and life. If OpenAI solves simple tasks now, it will reach such a high level in the future that it will be difficult to distinguish it from a real human.
  2. When asked whether artificial intelligence will replace human intelligence, Sergey Tokarev gave a clear answer: “I would say that it is an addition to it.” And today we should not be afraid of artificial intelligence – it is designed to simplify our work, to take on tedious daily tasks.” The entrepreneur emphasized that ChatGPT and similar services are used as a tool to systematize the information we receive on a regular basis. If you learn to manage these processes correctly, you can make your work easier and save time.
  3. Modern versions of artificial intelligence are flawed, but the accuracy of their work also depends on how correctly the user’s wishes are formulated. A clearly written prompt (hint) is required for the machine to show the best quality result. When you pose a problem for AI, you must remember all the details you want to see as a result of the generation. For example, if you need a picture of a dog, the request “draw a dog” will not suffice. Of course, the service will provide a picture, but most likely it will not be what you imagined. If you want to get a beautiful photo with all the desired details, you need to write down the parameters: breed, age, type of wool, color, size, etc. The key to the effectiveness of AI work is in a well-defined technical task.
  4. Artificial intelligence can take over the search function. Sergey Tokarev, co-founder of Roosh, considers him a real competitor of Google. And really, why do we need search services with tons of ads if you can get a quick and clear response on ChatGPT? First, it saves time — AI analyzes thousands of resources and finds the answer. Second, such a response is unaffected by marketing.
  5. The use of technology to assist customers will be ubiquitous. The support service will reach a new level as the algorithm can find an answer to a question faster than a human. It can also independently process incoming calls, e-mails and large volumes of information in the database.

Legal issues with AI

According to Sergei Tokarev, the modern legal system will hinder the further development of artificial intelligence. For example, a serious issue of intellectual property right in the context of the use of AI technologies is currently being resolved at a global level. This is especially true for photographs and illustrations. As the basis for creating an image, the algorithm takes publications from the Internet, which may turn out to be works by artists. If a person wishes to challenge copyright, to whom should they present their claim? Is it the AI itself, the creator of the algorithm, or the user? Not a single jurisdiction in the world is ready for such complexities, so there is no special body to solve this problem.
