Laser Technology Fixes iPhone Screen Without Removing It

The advent of new technology could revolutionize the way cell phones are repaired, thanks to a laser that promises to repair iPhone OLED screens without having to take them apart. An innovation that can save time, money, and resources is especially relevant for iPhone users, as the screen is often the most expensive component to repair.

OLED technology was introduced by Apple with the iPhone X in 2017, and it can offer significant benefits in terms of image quality. However, the cost of repairing these screens has also increased over the years. For example, for the largest iPhone OLED display found in the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the replacement cost is about $379, which is about one-third of the total cost of the device.

It is able to repair advanced line OLED panels without having to remove the screen. This is especially useful for problems that occur at the middle level of OLED. However, the machine does not repair glass or flexible cables. Thus, these components must be in good condition for the repair to be successful.

The repair process is manual and not automated. The phone’s screen remains lit throughout the process, allowing the technician to visually track the repair process and instantly know when the issue has been resolved. The laser is used to fix each stroke until the lines disappear.

Laser technology is also applicable to other smartphones

The new laser technology is not only limited to iPhone OLED screens, but can also fix any smartphone with a green line issue. The green line usually appears when the panel has broken or jagged marks, which are small paths through which electrical signals travel across areas of the panel to illuminate pixels.

When these tracks are disturbed, the pixels cannot receive electrical signals, resulting in a green bar appearing on the screen. It is important to note that this technology will not work on cracked or scratched iPhone OLED screens.

The repair process only applies to OLED panels, which are usually fused to glass. Also, the machine cannot fix a broken or damaged screen. The broken screen will have to be replaced, and for the operation you will have to disassemble the device.
