Bing’s AI chatbot is rolling out on Chrome and Safari browsers. There are still some restrictions.
Until recently, Bing Chat was only available for Edge, but the chatbot is now also limited to Safari and Chrome. The notification is from Windows Latest.
Bing Chat runs on OpenAIs ChatGPT and has been available for Microsoft Edge since February. For the latter, the chatbot has more options for the time being; Chrome currently allows users to send five messages per conversation and has a 2,000 character limit, compared to Edge’s 30 messages and 4,000 characters.
The testers also noticed that Microsoft is continuing to push its own Edge when using Bing Chat in Chrome. Users can also toggle between a light and dark mode, or let the system recognize OS preference.
For the time being, these are actually only tests by selected users. This is part of a testing process that Microsoft is currently running to see how Bing Chat works in other browsers.
Microsoft has confirmed that all Safari and Chrome surfers will have access to Bing AI within a few weeks. Earlier this month, the company also introduced Bing Chat Enterprise, a business version of the AI search engine.
