Good news for lovers (or nostalgics). classic games, a collective for which Antstream will not be a special name. If this is not your case, that is, if you do not know it, you should know that we are talking about a cloud gaming platform, but with the peculiarity that its catalog consists exclusively of classic console and computer games, the age of which is no longer measured in years, but in decades, in some cases with a very, very limited offer (for example, it has only two games from the first PlayStation), but with a much wider catalog than in others, 350 from ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64.

Originally announced five years ago, in 2018, it already had around 1,000 games in its catalog as of its launch date, an amount that has risen to more than 1,300 today. It is true that we are not talking about a particularly fast growth rate, but the good thing is that it has proven to be constant over the years, which is not only a sign of the commitment of those responsible for the platform to its users, but also that we can expect it to continue in the future.

Antstream is currently available for PC (Windows, macOS and Linux), Android devices and, since late last year, some of the latest TVs from Samsung, which we know has made a major commitment to bringing cloud gaming to its screens without the need for additional devices. However, The ecosystem it hasn’t been able to reach yet is exactly one in which its presence would make a lot of sense, the console ecosystem..

However, as we can read in CGC, this is no longer the case and it is Antstream is now available for Xbox Series X|S users, a news that, as we can read in the mentioned article, is due to the great involvement of Phil Spencer himself, the head of Xbox, to bring the retro game service in the cloud to the Microsoft console. And they do so with the most favorable conditions for users who decide to subscribe.

For a better understanding of the good conditions, let’s recall that the subscription price in PC mode is 3.99 euros per month, respectively 39.99 for an annual subscription. Well, in the case of Antstream for Xbox Series X|S, we didn’t find a monthly subscription modality, the annual cost is €29.99s, and is also offered permanent subscription for 79.99 euros. The bad part? You must have already imagined it, and the point is that each subscription is, at least for now, only compatible with its own platform, so at least for now, PC subscriptions cannot be used on Xbox and vice versa.
