As Twitter Becomes X, Meta Threads Adds Two Important User-Requested Features

Mark Zuckerberg knows that Threads needs new features to attract X (formerly Twitter) users. Although the San Francisco-based social network has not stopped the app controversial changes Since it was acquired by Elon Musk, it has had a remarkable group of contributors who have brought it to life.

Instagram’s text post recommendation had a successful launch. It reached 100 million registered users in a short time, but the daily usage rate started to drop significantly. Solution? Give users what they want. And that’s exactly what happened.

Chronological feed and message translation

One of the biggest shortcomings of Threads is, chronological feed. When opening the application, the posts of the followed and unfollowed users were output. The latter can certainly be irritating, as you see the external content selected by the algorithm.

Several users did not hesitate to use the social network to request a follow tab. Zuckerberg responded to one of those requests Tuesday with the message “Ask and you’ll get it.” Some optional features were announced soon after, possibly as part of a strategic move.

Subject Chronological Order

“Following” tab in topics

Meta CEO said in a post on his Instagram channel that Threads received an email. chronological feed and message translation function. With this change, there will be two tabs at the top of the social network. “For you” and “Follow”. The first will show us the algorithmically compiled content, and the second will show the content of the people we follow.

The translation function, for its part, activates an icon in the lower right corner of each post. When pressed, the content is automatically translated. If pressed again, it returns to the original language. With these two features, Threads now looks like a stronger proposition to beat X.

As this is a global rollout, new features may not be immediately available to all users. In this case it is recommended keep the app updated and wait. We also know that other functions are on the way.
