According to the decision of the Texas court, the brand will have to pay $338.7 million (approximately BRL 1.6 billion in direct currency conversion) for Touchstream Technologies, who made the accusation and claims to be the original copyright holder of the tool. The Chromecast is an accessory that connects via HDMI to a TV and can play content from apps like streaming platforms on it – turning an old model into a Smart TV. It is currently the sixth generation of the Google TV Chromecast model released in September 2022.
