The government’s Computer Emergency Response Team CERT-UA, operating under the auspices of the State Special Service, found that hackers attacking government institutions in Ukraine also attacked EU countries.
According to Ukrinform, the press service of the State Special Communications Service reports.
“The hackers attacking government institutions in Ukraine are also attacking the EU countries. Another confirmation of this is provided by the Government’s Ukraine CERT-UA Computer Emergency Response Team, operating under the State Special Communications Service,” he said.
Therefore, emails containing links to dangerous RAR archives under the names Assistance.rar, Necessary_military_assistance.rar were sent to the address of one of the Latvian state bodies. Each of these archives contained malicious shortcut files with English titles related to humanitarian aid to our country.
The attack is linked to the UAC-0010 (Armageddon) group, the same group that distributes malicious emails among government agencies in Ukraine.
As Ukrinform reported, since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression, more than 120 strong cyberattacks on the resources of state officials and the military administration of Ukraine were immediately detected and neutralized.
