Ukrainian government officials may receive dangerous emails where attackers gain remote access to computers.
According to Ukrinform, the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine reports in a Telegram.
The government’s computer emergency response team, CERT-UA, working for the State Special Communications Service, warned of the distribution of dangerous emails with the subject “information about Russian war criminals” among government agencies, the statement said.
It is noted that such an e-mail contains an HTML file “War Criminals of the Russian Federation.htm”, the opening of which leads to the creation of a computer RAR archive Viyskovi_zlochinci_RU.rar.
The archive in question contains the file tag “War criminals who destroyed Ukraine (home addresses, photos, phone numbers, pages on social networks) .lnk”. Opening this file will allow attackers to gain remote access to the victim’s computer.
According to the State Special Service, the event is associated with the activities of the UAC-0010 (Armageddon) group.
As Ukrinform reported, since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression, more than 120 strong cyberattacks on the resources of state officials and the military administration of Ukraine were immediately detected and neutralized.
