The American company announced that the Google Pay payment service is being replaced by Google Wallet. It is expected that this will be a full replacement for a real wallet, providing a single space for storing all bank and discount cards, digital keys and much more.

In Google Wallet, you can store not only credit cards and loyalty cards, but also all kinds of event tickets, plane boarding passes, vaccination certificates, digital car keys, student IDs and much more. In the future, it will also be possible to add identity cards, driver’s licenses and electronic keys to hotel rooms.

The new service will be integrated into other Google applications. For example, when building a route to a certain place in Maps, the main card and the balance on it are displayed, which will allow the user to plan their leisure time and, if necessary, replenish the account or increase the credit limit.

According to Google, all personal data of users will be securely protected, and in case of loss or theft of a smartphone, you can use the function of remote blocking or deleting all information, while private passes will be marked accordingly.

The Google Pay update to Google Wallet will be released this summer and will be available in 40 countries around the world. An interesting fact is that the service already existed in the past, but in 2015 Android Pay was released on its basis, which later turned into Google Pay.
