American developer Microsoft will stop issuing software licenses to Russian companies after September 30.

As Ukrinform reports, this is stated in a letter from the company’s technical support published by the TelecomDaily profile agency.

Microsoft can no longer accept payments to a local bank account for its services in Russia. “Therefore, Microsoft Corporation gives you 60 days’ notice that you will no longer be able to continue with your existing subscriptions after September 30, 2023 (effective date),” the statement said.

Active subscriptions will be valid until the end of the remaining time. They cannot be extended in the future

Microsoft stopped selling new products in Russia in 2022 after Russian troops entered Ukraine. However, Kommersant newspaper wrote that Russian representations of international companies and legal entities that are not subject to sanctions have previously received license extension offers to software companies.

Hundreds of companies and brands have withdrawn from the Russian market, reportedly after Russia launched an all-out war against Ukraine.
