To delete comments on Telegram UA Anti Spam Bot, developed by volunteers from Master of Code Global IT company, the bot has deleted up to 80,000 comments containing spam from Ukrainian groups and chats for about 1.5 years.

The head of the UA Anti Spam Bot project, Dmytro Vakulenko, spoke about this in an interview with Ukrinform, which will be published soon.

“During this whole time, we’ve deleted about 70-80k comments. That doesn’t take into account information about a full-scale invasion. For information security, we don’t store it anywhere so it doesn’t go out anywhere.” So we’re talking about fraudulent messages and 18+ content.”

Vakulenko noted that the bot has 683,000 users. A total of 2,500 Ukrainian groups and chats on Telegram have set up the UA Anti Spam Bot.

Vakulenko said that the UA Anti Spam Bot was created in the first days of the full-scale invasion to combat the posting of comments on Telegram containing strategic information about the course of the war in Ukraine (about the movement of the army). Ukrainian checkpoints, about the “arrival” of enemy missiles, etc. ). Later, the bot’s functions were expanded and trained to remove various objectionable content: fake messages, links to phishing sites, 18+ content, etc.

According to the head of the project, the bot does not save data on the removal of comments containing information about the progress of a full-scale invasion for information security reasons.

As reported, in the spring of 2023, the UA Anti Spam Bot volunteer project team developed a chatbot that blocks comments on the Armed Forces counteroffensive on Telegram channels and groups.
