Nfortec has updated its range of PC towers with the new Draco X. An important renewal of one of the best-selling series in its price range and as we said in its presentation the level rose compared to the previous models of the Spanish manufacturer.

And that’s exactly what Nfortec Draco X was designed for respond to increased performance internal components that make up a good desktop computer. More power results in increased temperature, voltage, noise and footprint, which must be responded to with more capacity to accommodate the most advanced cooling systems, ease cable management, and flexibly and efficiently mount to avoid problems and get the best performance.

And, of course, always taking into account other sections such as connectivity or aesthetics, RGB lighting systems or the use of tempered glass on the sides that allow you to see inside, which is liked by many users who place the tower on a table. We had the opportunity to analyze this Nfortec Draco X, and as you will see below, it more than meets all the goals that we can ask for in a high-end tower.

Nfortec Draco X, specifications

The new Nfortec tower is based on a generous size in all its dimensions and allows the assembly of any type of motherboard and format, both the most used standards in the consumer market, ATX, MicroATX and ITXas well as one designed for workstations and equipment enthusiasts, the E-ATX.

In addition, its size has increased compared to the previous model and other lines of the manufacturer, and its dimensions of 460 x 231 x 486 mm leave enough space for all kinds of componentseven the largest dedicated graphics cards and liquid cooling systems on the market.

The chassis is made of SPCC steel 0.7mm, a generous thickness to increase assembly robustness and operational safety, and extremely stable with its 7kg weight. Draco X maintains the general aesthetics of the series, but improves access and assembly of components.

Nfortec took advantage of its larger size to redesign several sections. One is the front panel of connectors to facilitate cable routing and avoid cable routing on the front, while the base has removable panel with dust filterwhich joins two others at the bottom and top of the chassis.

The overall design follows the line of modern towers with a space at the bottom for installing a power supply. Separate and removable opening which facilitates mounting, cable routing and overall cooling, supports any modular ATX format PSU up to 200mm.

It has room for seven expansion slots (+2 more), which is more than enough to mount components on a typical motherboard. can be installed dedicated graphics cards up to 380 mm in length and in a horizontal or vertical position. The generous space of this tower also allows for the installation of liquid cooling systems up to 360 mm, which can be placed both on the front and on the top. If you choose an air-cooled fan-sink, you can install models up to 175 mm.

The “generosity” of its size also refers to the number of supported positions, seven in 3.5 or 2.5-inch formats for installing optical drives or hard drives / SSDs for connecting to SATA.

Regarding the cooling of the tower itself, Nfortec supplies four RGB fans installed at key points, three in the front and a fourth in the back. They are oversized, 140 mm to reduce operating noise.

And they include a custom A-RGB controller with PWM functionality syncronizable to motherboards, so it’s just a matter of plug and play. And leave room for more, as we saw above. The manufacturer offers the option of liquid cooling, although others from any manufacturer can be installed.

Bring out the details that give this tower its all top premium touch. As well as tempered glass incorporated in the front and side; three dust filters that protect the interior for a long time; A-RGB driver; rubber grommets or velcro straps for better cable routing.

Finally, highlight the external connectivity located on the front redesigned for the occasion and it is a success for our taste. It includes a button for turning on/off/restarting the computer, connecting peripherals to four USB ports (including a modern Type-C) and connecting headphones or speakers thanks to the built-in 3.5 mm audio connectors.

We leave you with a tabular overview of its specifications:

Installation and operation

The manufacturer makes it easy to install the components. Removing the panels and filters is extremely simple and takes place without the need for any tools.

For the review, we installed an ASUS board that features an AMD Ryzen processor in an AM4 socket. The board has a small micro-ATX format, but as we saw in its specifications, the Nfortec Draco X has enough space to install any platform from AMD or Intelto E-ATX, the largest motherboards on the market and are usually reserved for professional workstations or the most powerful consumer PCs.

With patience and taste, there is no need to complete as clean an installation as possible in the main part, because all the wiring goes through the secondary side and the bottom part, which collects the cables from the source.

The priority should be to free the ventilation of the CPU, chipset, RAM or graphics card from obstacles that hinder air circulation. The design and space of this tower make this task much easier.

In conclusion, I state that during tests carried out under maximum load (games or video editing) we had no problems with operation or temperatures. The four fans that come standard with the tower, their strategic placement and their huge 140mm size keep the temperature under control. And they make very little noise, which is always appreciated. The mounting options are very wide for installing any board format and cooling system.

You can place the tower under or on top of a desk to “show off” your computer. The design does not clash with the rest of the peripherals, while the tempered glass on the side lets you see your components in action. The backlight is a plus for customization for many users, and here we have to thank the standard controller.

conclusions

The Nfortec Draco X is a versatile PC tower for all computing, professional or gaming use. His generous size It allows you to install any motherboard format and the largest and most advanced components. Installation is simple thanks to its design and the easy removal of panels from the chassis without the need for tools. Its build quality and finishes are remarkable, which highlights them premium features that add value such as an A-RGB controller for lighting synchronization, dust filters or tempered glass panels. For all this, our recommended product logo wins.

Nfortec Draco X is distributed in two versions with black or white finish and official price €139.95. It is available on the manufacturer’s website and in large Spanish retailers such as Amazon or PcComponentes. To say that the price of this tower is quite adjusted to its potential, but if you are looking for something smaller and cheaper, we recommend other models from the manufacturer, such as the Caelum Black, which we reviewed a few months ago and liked very much.
